The moment you have been waiting for is NOW here!! Below I am presenting to you my TED talk video on my Genius Hour Project. My goal was to answer the following question:. I bring to you an environmental, educational year-long plan that can be implemented into any classroom. Environmental education is key to the success of our future, so why not start teaching this type of education more thoroughly to young students who can be given the opportunity to become environmental stewards today, next year, and even 10 years from now. This is a plan and a call for help, as our planet reaches its tipping point from global warming. It is a little longer than I expected, but I couldn't help myself because I am so passionate about this topic. With that being said, I hope you find my plan informative and that it inspires you to help shape people into becoming environmentally AWARE and MORE environmentally FRIENDLY! ReplyDeleteWhat I really liked about it was that it is RELEVANT! This is something that you can definitely implement into your classroom as a teacher. I like how you made it work with the curriculum for science so its not only engaging it is educational.
I also really liked how you added in music! It was fitting and really set a great tone for the talk.
One thing you could be more aware of going into the future with TED talks is your on camera presence. This info is fun and awesome! Smile!
So impressed with your Ted Talk, Samantha! The fact that you broke it down monthly is helpful and gives students the chance to really delve into each topic at a meaningful level. I appreciate the fact that they get to see relevant videos and that the lessons are very hands on. For example, contributing to a charity that they agree upon. I like the brainstorming collaborative work students will participate in. You occasionally change the screen, which is a great visual technique. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteI just finished watching your TED talk and I am very impressed! You did a great job! It seems like you put A LOT of work into your classroom environmental plan, coming up with different topics each month. This is something that is very informative and important for students to know and I think that it is great that you chose this as your topic for your Genius Hour project. I enjoyed that you had music playing in the background, it went nicely with the topic that you chose! Awesome job :)
